This work explores the use of sound to either enhance or contrast with visuals—transcribed by grooves engraved on cards that can be played on a turntable— offering new ways to interpret images. The first series centers on Georgia, where protests erupted against a pro-Russian law. I used recordings of parliamentary disputes, overlaid on fragmented footage of residential areas filmed in 2023 with an old phone—symbolizing societal division and a regression from democratic hopes. The second series, set in Imsouane, Morocco, captures a peaceful surf town in early 2024. However, this harmony is disrupted by testimonies recorded days later, following the sudden demolition of homes and businesses for a state-led coastal redevelopment tied to the 2030 World Cup.
